How This App Works
My Family App is designed as a private family space first. Public sharing is optional and must be deliberately enabled.
Private By Default
Family information is not automatically public. The Family Admin decides what can be shared, who can see it and who can change it.
Who Can See Something?
Public — visible on the public-facing family experience when public sharing is enabled.
Family Members — visible to signed-in family members.
Selected Members — visible only to specifically chosen people.
Admin Only — visible only to Admin or SUPER ADMIN.
Private — no general visibility. Admin can separately decide whether the person the information belongs to may see it.
Who Can Change Something?
Control and visibility are separate. A person may be allowed to see a field without being allowed to change it, or may be allowed to manage it while its visibility remains restricted.
Why Is Something Greyed Out?
A greyed-out item does not necessarily mean the feature is broken. It may be private, permission-controlled, turned off by the family, or not available to the person currently signed in.
Member Authority vs. Family-Wide Changes
Authority over someone’s own profile does not automatically give them permission to change the whole family app. Shared categories, pages, announcements and other family-wide changes can be routed to Admin Requests when approval is required.
Login Access
Roles stay simple: SUPER ADMIN, Admin, Member, or Social Connection. Sign-in and Chat are permissions, not separate roles. Admin decides whether each person can sign in and whether they can use Chat.
About This 24-Hour Test Drive
This demo family is isolated from every other visitor. You may change names, colors, permissions, public settings and other available functions. Your test family expires automatically after 24 hours.
